New & Upcoming Works

Chris will spend the month of August composing and recording the score to David Hunt's first feature length film "Living Dark." The movie, a psychological thriller, is based on a mysterious web blog that appeared in 2001 detailing the discovery of an unexplored cave somewhere in North America. The film follows two brothers as they enter into the unknown both physically and psychologically, using the physical space of the cave as a medium for delving deeper into their charged and disturbed emotional past.

After composing the score, Chris will record with the musicians both in the studio and in tunnels through out New York City parks in order to "echo" and "recreate" environments acoustically similar to those in the film.

After a very successful pilot year at Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School, the Bang On A Can Music Education Program, co-founded and developed with Jeremy Thal, met with Pulitzer Prize winning composer David Lang, and composers Michael Gordon and Julia Wolfe to discuss the future of the program. Now adopted as the new education wing of Bang On A Can, the program is seeking to expand to more New York City public schools, garner further funding and support, and continue to develop its unique, innovative, and technologically savvy approach to teaching, creating, and recording music.
